Our games may be small, but our dreams are big: through our games, we like to encourage awareness of the real world and the issues that we, as humankind, face today.

Andy Schatz, a veteran of the video game industry, formed Pocketwatch Games in January, 2005. His story is like many other developers that have chosen to go independent: he thought that large commercial games were becoming less interesting to play, more expensive to build, and less rewarding to create. The market of people that wanted unique entertainment experiences was being left behind in favor of big-budget sequels and remakes. As television has become more segmented with the advent of satellite and cable technology, he believed that there were a huge number of people that weren't looking for the next sci-fi first person shooter.

Pocketwatch Games also prides itself on being one of the few game development studios that truly contributes to the betterment of the world through our games and our charitable contributions. A percentage of the sales of Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa is donated annually to wildlife habitat preservation programs.
